Sri Lanka Navy Artificer Vacancies 2026

The Sri Lanka Navy has called applications from eligible male candidates for vacancies in the Artificer Branch of the Sri Lanka Regular Naval Force.

Selected candidates will initially be enlisted as Recruit Sailors and will undergo basic training. Qualified candidates will also be enrolled in a three-year full-time National Diploma in Technology course offered through the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University or the Sri Lanka Naval Institute of Technology.

✅ Eligibility Requirements

General Requirements

• Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
• Must be a male candidate.
• Age must be between 18 and 24 years at the closing date of applications.
• Minimum height: 5 feet 5 inches (165.10 cm).
• BMI in plain clothes: 17 – 27.
• Chest measurement: 32 inches (81.28 cm).
• Colour Vision: STD II.
• Visual Acuity: 6/6 without spectacles/lenses.
• Candidates must be unmarried.

Candidates with distant vision of 6/12 corrected to 6/6 with lenses may be considered according to the Gazette requirements.

📚 Educational Qualifications

Applicants should have passed the G.C.E. O/L Examination with six subjects including English, Science and Mother Tongue, with a Credit Pass in Mathematics, in not more than two attempts.

G.C.E. A/L Requirements

Candidates should have appeared in one of the following:

• Physical Science Stream
• Biological Science Stream
• Science for Technology and Engineering Technology under the Technology Stream

Applications from candidates who do not fulfil the specified requirements may be rejected.

⚓ Training and Service Conditions

• Candidates will initially be enlisted as recruits.

🏃 Selection Process

Step 1 – Application

2 – Preliminary Medical Test
Eligible candidates will undergo the preliminary medical test prescribed by the Sri Lanka Navy.

3 – Selection Interview
Candidates who pass the preliminary medical test will appear before a Selection Board.

4 – Physical Endurance Test
Candidates who qualify at the interview will undergo the required Physical Endurance Test.

5 – Navy Medical Board
Candidates who pass the Physical Endurance Test must appear before the Navy Medical Board.

6 – Enlistment
Candidates found eligible by the Navy Medical Board will be enlisted as Recruit Sailors in the Artificer Branch.
