Eastern University B.Sc Agriculture 2025/2026: The Faculty of Agriculture of Eastern University, Sri Lanka has invited applications for admission to the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (B.Sc. Agriculture) degree programme for the 2025/2026 academic year under the special entry scheme for public officers.

This special admission opportunity is available for eligible government and private sector employees who hold a recognized Diploma in Agriculture and have at least five years of experience in the agricultural sector after obtaining the diploma.

Academic Qualifications

Applicants for the Eastern University B.Sc Agriculture 2025/2026 special entry programme must meet the following educational requirements.

1. Diploma in Agriculture

Applicants must possess a two-year Diploma in Agriculture obtained from:

• Any School of Agriculture under the Department of Agriculture; or
• An Advanced Technological Institute or an institution recognized for the relevant qualification.

2. G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L)

Applicants must have:

• Passed six subjects at the G.C.E. O/L examination in one sitting; and
• Obtained four Credit passes, including Science and Mathematics.

3. G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L)

Applicants must satisfy one of the following requirements:

Old Syllabus:

Passed at least three subjects in one sitting from the following subjects:

• Botany
• Zoology
• Chemistry
• Physics
• Pure Mathematics
• Applied Mathematics
• Agriculture

OR

New Syllabus:

Passed at least three subjects in one sitting from:

• Biology
• Chemistry
• Physics
• Combined Mathematics
• Agriculture

Work Experience Requirements

Applicants must have relevant professional experience in the agricultural sector.

The requirements include:

• At least five years of work experience in the agricultural sector after obtaining the Diploma in Agriculture.
• The applicant should have worked as a permanent employee in the government or private sector.
• The required five-year experience must be completed on or before the closing date for applications.

Therefore, applicants should ensure that they have completed the required five years of relevant experience by 30 September 2026.

• மேம்பட்ட தொழில்நுட்ப நிறுவனம் (Advanced Technological Institute) போன்ற அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட நிறுவனம்.

2. க.பொ.த. சாதாரண தரம் (G.C.E. O/L)

ஒரே அமர்வில்:

• ஆறு பாடங்களில் சித்தி பெற்றிருக்க வேண்டும்.
